Welcome. Novel Outings are exhilarating good fun with a passionate feel for the imaginative life of a place, in this case the south east of England. Poet Hugo Williams writing in the Times Literary Supplement dubbed the first Twentieth Century Walk "uniformly excellent". It was The Waste Land (1922). Since 1988 the outings have grown to include internet shows, walkers' guides, web authoring and a remarkable series of monthly Book Browsers@ Borders Books in Brighton which ran from World Book Day 1999 through Brighton Festival 2000. The walks and talks described on this site are available for private bookings.
